  3. Description Laser Tag Plus is a game played by two teams(A & B). Each team member has a gun and a vest. Each team also has a base to keep score. Laser Tag Plus--Brendan Toole and Nathan Siegwald

  4. Project Goal To create a team based laser tag game with scoring capabilities and multiple game play options. Laser Tag Plus--Brendan Toole and Nathan Siegwald

  5. Implementation scheme • Use an IR LED and detector to send and recognize two unique team signals • Use a radio transmitter and receiver to send and recognize two unique “hit” signals • Use digital logic to determine game play Laser Tag Plus--Brendan Toole and Nathan Siegwald

  6. Gun Design Laser Tag Plus--Brendan Toole and Nathan Siegwald

  7. Vest Design Laser Tag Plus--Brendan Toole and Nathan Siegwald

  8. Base Design Laser Tag Plus--Brendan Toole and Nathan Siegwald

  9. Quantitative Results • Can detect hits from 100+ feet • Half angle beam divergence is about 22 degrees • Battery Life is about 30 minutes (under constant playing conditions) Laser Tag Plus--Brendan Toole and Nathan Siegwald

  10. Design Complications • Clocks • 555 timer • Frequency drift • IR LEDs • Voltage regulator/Battery Laser Tag Plus--Brendan Toole and Nathan Siegwald

  11. Conclusion We achieved basic functionality of any regular laser tag game. We experienced problems in the implementation of the team based play and scoring features. With additional debugging time, we could perfect these features. Using the information gained from this project, other groups can add features to our design, such as the ones we foresaw in our brainstorming sessions. Such features as handicapping, aiming assistance, messages, a time limit on play, etc. would bring a more interesting aspect to the game of laser tag.
