  2. Goals • Calculate HDD • Furnace on time • Number of on-off cycles • Heat Loss • Correlate Data

  3. HDD & Furnace On Time

  4. HDD Calculated Vs. HDD Published

  5. Furnace On Time Vs. HDD Calculated

  6. Furnace On Time Vs. HDD Published

  7. On – Off Cycles

  8. Calculated On/Off Cycles Vs. Observed

  9. First Floor Areas (ft.2)

  10. Second Floor Areas (ft.2)

  11. Basement Areas (ft.2)

  12. House Total (ft.2)

  13. R - Values

  14. Heat Losses

  15. House Heat Loss

  16. Conclusion • HDD calculated vs. HDD published strong correlation and minimal error. • Excel program was modified to yield accurate furnace on/off calculations • Furnace on time vs. HDD & calculated vs. HDD published showed a poor correlation. • House Heat loss calculations yielded reasonable results.
