  3. The Fronde • How the Nobility of France was not fond of the growing power of the Monarchy • The Fronde was a revolt by the French nobility, particularly in Paris, to gain back the power they were losing to the King. • What type of affect might his have on the young King Louis?

  4. Louis Plan for Absolute Power • When Louis turned 18 he took power as the King of France • Louis always distrusting of the French Nobility planned to move the seat of power from the Palace in Paris to the new Palace in Versailles

  5. Versailles • Versailles would eventually become the largest palace in all of Europe • Louis would use the Palace to solidify his absolute power • Made the Nobility move to the palace • A force used to control the nobility • Was a symbol of his absolute power
