FALL 2013 SELECTION PROCESS FRESNO STATE IS IMPACTED FOR FIRST-TIME FRESHMAN FALL 2013 Local Admission Area: Fresno, Madera, Tulare, and Kings Counties • Applicants from defined local admission area will be admitted • Local Applicants WITH 3.0 GPA or higher will be admitted without SAT/ACT • SAT or ACT strongly recommended for all students • Athletes must meet regular admissions requirements and NCAA eligibility requirements LOCAL ADMISSION AREA

FALL 2013 SELECTION PROCESS FRESNO STATE IS IMPACTED FOR FIRST-TIME FRESHMAN FALL 2013 Out of Area Students will be ranked ordered by eligibility index and admission offers will be made in descending order of eligibility until the freshman class is full. • SAT or ACT scores are required for all applicants from schools outside the local area. • Test scores must be submitted by January 15, 2013. OUT OF AREA • SPECIAL ADMITS • Educational Opportunity Program (EOP) • College Assistance Migrant Program (CAMP)

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS • Create Email account is required https://my.fresnostate.edu Student Portfolio-Admissions https://my.fresnostate.edu • Course requirements may not be completed during the summer after high school graduation. • Must meet all document deadlines • Campus appeals will be considered on a case by case basis and will be notified on decision or update with in 30 days.

IMPACTED MAJORS • NURSING Admission: GPA in 8 prerequisite TEAS Test Fall Semester: Apply March 1-31 Spring Semester: Apply August 1-31 *Students are considered Pre-Nursing until admitted into nursing program • ATHLETIC TRAINING Intro to Athletic Training First Responder & Emergency Care Human Anatomy 200 hours of observation 2.5 minimum GPA March 1 – Application Deadline *B.A. Social Work – will suspend admission to the program for Fall 2013.

FILING PERIODS AND TIMELINES • October 1, 2012 -Application filing period for Fall 2012November 30, 2012WWW.CSUMENTOR.EDU • December 2012 Admissions notices begin for local area students • January, 2013 EPT/ELM- Encourage students to take in January – April test will hold up registration for classes • January 15, 2013 Official SAT or ACT score must be received by Fresno (Last test date for SAT is 12/01/2012, ACT 12/08/2012) • February 28, 2013 Last Day to submit Fresno State Scholarship application • March 2, 2013 Last Day for priority filing for FAFSA • March 15, 2013 - ACCEPT/DECLINE ADMISSIONS OFFER BEGINS May 1, 2013 DOG DAYS (New Student Orientation) – $55student feeEARLY START SMART PAGE • April 6, 2013 PREVIEW DAY • June, July 2013 DOG DAYS: New Student Orientation sessions • June 30, 2013 Deadline for Admitted first time freshmen to submit final official high school transcript.

EARLY START PROGRAM (ESP) • Students must begin their remediation the summer before their fall enrollment at a CSU through ESP. • Initial determination of expected participation in ESP will be done via SAT/ACT or EAP scores. • ELM/EPT, if required, must be taken as early as possible (no later than May) to officially determine participation in ESP. • Information on a student’s requirement to take ESP or placement exams (EPT & ELM) is available on their Smart Page at https://my.fresnostate.edu.

EARLY START PROGRAM (ESP) • Students will notify Fresno State of how they will complete their required ESP participation after they accept their admission to Fresno State. • Students may complete ESP at Fresno State, other CSUs, or CCCs. • Complete Early Start information including course descriptions are available at gotofresnostate.com
