  1. AWS VS AZURE If you are a professional in cloud computing, then these two brands “AWS” & “AZURE” would sound very familiar. But if you are new to the world of cloud computing, then you would want to select a cloud platform that will help you to easily begin your journey of learning cloud computing. So let me make your search easier by introducing these two biggies when it comes to public cloud computing. ISACA Certification and GSEC certification also come with the same importance if you are discussing IT certifications this two important certifications should not ignore choosing the right certification for your career path Thinking which one is better? Let me help you in understanding which one is better for you by providing below the key comparisons. 1.Compute Power: AWS: The users of AWS can configure their own VMs and can also choose to pre-configured machine images and can even customize machine images. They can also choose the required size, power, memory capacity and the number of VMs. They also have the flexibility to choose from the various region and available zones that they wish to launch from. AZURE:The virtual hard disk can be configured either by Microsoft, the users or a third party. However, only the amount of cores and memory must be specified. 2.Data Storage: AWS: It has temporary storage. It will be allocated once an instance is initiated and will be destroyed post the termination of an instance. Block storage is also provided. Block storage can be separate or it can be attached to an instance.

  2. AZURE:Temporary storage has been provided by AZURE through D drive and block storage through page blobs for VMs. It also offers site recovery, AZURE backup for additional archiving and recovery options. 3.Network: AWS: Users can create isolated networks within the cloud as Amazon offer VPC (Virtual Private Cloud). VPC enables users to create private IP address ranges, network gateways, route tables and subnets. AZURE:Azure also offers the option of isolated networks through VNET (Virtual Network). 4.Pricing: AWS: It has pay-as-you-go model. The charge is per hour AZURE:Azure also has pay-as-you-go model but the charge is per minute. It also offers some short term plans by making prepaid or monthly charges options available. 5.Support plans: AWS: Since the pricing is based on monthly usage, so the bill could be quite high in case if you are a heavy user. AZURE:Whereas, AZURE users are billed flat on monthly rate. 6.Open source and Integrations: AWS: This has a better relationship with the open source community, hence the more number of open source integration are available. AZURE:Azure doesn’t have any formal model for open source. 7.Containers & Orchestration Support: AWS: Amazon is customer centric, as it keeps on meeting the new demands for services. This continuous efforts results in more matured analytical offerings. AZURE:Microsoft also gives a head to head competition to Amazon by maintaining a strong track record of meeting new demands. 8.Compliance:

  3. AWS: Amazon’s compliance is very strong and they allow only screened persons for accessing the cloud. This further strengthens the security of the data especially for the agencies with sensitive information. AZURE:Microsoft says that it has more than 50 complaint offerings and it also allows only screened person for accessing the government level cloud. 9.User - friendly: AWS: It offers lot of power, it is flexible in nature and there is a lot of room for customization along with the support for many third-party integrations. However, learning curve exists with AWS. AZURE:It will be easier to use if you have a windows platform as it doesn’t require any new learning’s. 10.Licensing: AWS: It offers various options for licensing in the cloud. The customers can either purchase new license or can show up the license which was purchased prior as a part of their partnership with Mircosoft. AZURE:It also offer the mobility in licensing however the users must first check if their servers fit the requirements for mobility so that they don’t need to pay for extra licensing. Summary: The facilities or the benefits provided by Amazon and Microsoft are more over on the same lines. Hence, the question of which one is better depends on what are your business requirements. Whether you choose AWS or AZURE you will get the benefits of the hyper scalable cloud solution that will definitely meet your growing business needs. So choose wisely!!!!
