HDF4 Mapping Verification Project • Recommendations from study • Ongoing user support, issues resolution • H4mapwriter releases: May and Nov. 2013 • Implement Recommended Solution • Content Map Checker for automated checking • Retranslator Utility for manual checking with familiar tools • Modular Infrastructure - production-quality platform for Checker, Retranslator, and other software (e.g., Map Reader) • What next? HDF Briefing to NASA

Support for wide characters in HDF5 • The HDF Group received two related requests: • Mathworks: • Support wide character file names • H5Py Developers (and Python community) • Support UTF-32 encoding for strings in HDF5 • Link names (groups, datasets) • Attribute names • Raw data • Implications: • HDF5 library, wrappers, command-line tools, HDFView, backward/forward compatibility HDF Briefing to NASA
