What do you need to study: • Topics will cover all the sections on drama (30%) • The plays are : • William Shakespeare – Hamlet (in Kirszner and Mandell, p.1654) • Sophocles – Oedipus Rex/Oedipus the King (in Kirszner and Mandell, p.1785) • Tennesse Williams’ The Glass Menagerie (in Kirszner and Mandell, p.1540) • A selection of questions will be given for you to choose from. • No MCQ’s. • Questions will be either be in short answer (1/2 page) or essay format (1 and ½ page) • Duration of exam is one and a half hour (90 minutes)

Areas to be covered in the final exam: • Main characters in the plays • Stage conventions: Greek, Renaissance and Modern • Theme of the plays • Differences between live performance and text • Significant plot • The role of women in the plays • Reminder : Essay - Due 2 weeks before the final exam
