  4. Classroom Environment • Cover classroom charts and visual references that have direct relevance to assessment. • Coverage does not need to be as extensive and comprehensiveas for STAAR.

  5. Student Preparation for Testing • Identification of students: Who will take what test • Identification of who will need small group testing • Accommodations should resemble  STAAR. (i.e. follow students’ IEP and be consistent to TEA accommodation guidelines) • Accommodations should provided during every day instruction and other formative assessments

  6. Test Security & Confidentiality • District Level Assessments (DLA) are secure tests. • Before handling test materials, all testing personnel must undergo training. • Everyone with access to test materials must sign an oath affirming that they understand their obligations concerning security and confidentiality. • Incidents and irregularities that are serious, involve cheating or affect data quality must be reported to the Student Assessment department. • All other incident and irregularities should be reported to the campus FAC. The FAC and principal who will discuss a plan of action to avoid reoccurring issues. • Serious incidents will be escalated to the Student Assessment who will contact the Professional Standards Dept.

  7. Materials Handling • Account for materials before, during, and after testing • Store materials appropriately when not in use • Only students may respond to test questions, perform calculations, use strategies, and create rough drafts to written responses • Do not review or change any student responses or instruct a student to do so during or after a test administration

  8. Schedules & Time Limits • Teacher Rotation Assignments • Materials Pick-up Schedule • Testing Time Limits (Secondary: approx. 90 min. not to exceed 2 class periods; Elementary: 4 hours) • Restroom Schedule • Lunch Schedule • Monitor Schedule • Small Groups Schedule

  9. Monitoring the Test Administration • Active monitoring of testing environment is essential! • Circulate and scan the room to maintain an appropriate test environment. • Ensure students are bubbling their responses in the right place. • Monitor for cheating or off task behavior.

  10. Post- Test Materials Handling & Collection • Account for materials before, during, and after testing • Teachers and/or campus personnel can view the District Level Assessment (DLA) after the test administration is complete for pedagogical next steps and didactic purposes • Items should not be recycled or reused for other purposes • Items are not to be used or modified outside of DLA administration • Test materials must be collected after (campus insert specific time frame) and discarded
