About agribusiness in Serbia • High percentage in economy (20% GDP, 30% employment, 23% export, ...) • Extensive agriculture (... and not organic) (<30% cattle breeding) • Devasting and import oriented pre-farm sector • Insufficient used favorable resources (600.000 ha) • Non-competitiveness (SRB:D = 1:11) • Export orientation: raw material, lower phases of processing, ... • Political pressures for agriculture to be social “buffer"
