  2. Initial Scripts to Purdue • E-Script from prescriber’s office • Call in Script from prescriber’s office • Case or Suspect • ISDH does not have to approve • Overnight via FedEx • LTBI • ISDH must approve • USPS

Initial/Updated Scripts to Purdue • If the prescriber is the county’s health officer • the local health department nurse can call in the drug order because she/he is acting as the physician’s direct agent • If the prescriber is a community physician (the local health department nurse is reading from a written prescription brought in/sent in) • the local health department nurse may NOT call the drug order in because she/he is not a direct agent of the physician • In this case, the physician’s office would need to submit the order to the pharmacy, directly, either by calling on the toll-free phone line or sending it in as an e-script.

  4. How to order TB medications from Purdue Pharmacy • E-script • In electronic medical record (EMR), search for zip code 47907.
