EA 1Presenting Findings from a Survey • Possible assumptions: • Hard work and frugality are still important American values. • All people can achieve success through hard work. • Young people don’t understand the relationship between hard work and money. • An important sign of success in the United States is having a steady job and working hard. • The American public is satisfied with its government. • Patriotism in America is at an all-time high.

6. EA 1Presenting Findings from a Survey • Choose two people with whom you will work well. • Begin brainstorming some assumptions and choose one TODAY! • Make sure you have defined key terms!

EA 1Presenting Findings from a Survey • Write your assumption on a piece of paper • Define key terms to clarify what you are questioning • Begin drafting your survey (at least 5 questions; no more than 10) • Ask another group to read it for clarity • Grab a laptop and begin typing your survey • By the end of the period (a quarter after), you should: • Have a typed survey with no errors and only ONE page! • Save your survey to a safe, accessible location! • Send it to me via email (hlittle@everettsd.org) by 3pm! At 3:01, I will no longer be able to copy it for you!

17. Group Work EA 1 You will have most of the rest of the period to meet with your survey groups. Here are some things you may do: • Analyze the survey data and calculate percentages • Decide who will be completing which tasks for the written piece (submitted to TI.com by Sunday 11:59pm), the presentation, etc. • Set up times/dates to meet (get contact info from each other) • If you remembered a laptop, begin working on your presentation/written piece (outline slides, outline the paper, etc) *If your group cannot work on ANY of these things, you made a choice to get together this weekend. You will now use this time for other homework…NOT SOCIAL HOUR!
