  1. ERP Activity at Northrop Grumman’sIntegrated Systems Sector (ISS)formerly Integrated Systems and Aerostructures Sector (ISA) ERP Seminar 12 -13 September 2000

  2. ERP Activity at Northrop Grumman’sIntegrated Systems Sector (ISS)formerly Integrated Systems and Aerostructures Sector (ISA) Don’t confuse the ISS implementation with the ESSS implementation. We have completely different experiences.

  3. ERP Activity at Northrop Grumman’sIntegrated Systems and Aerostructures Sector (ISA) • What happened at the ISA Sector? • Effective 1 Jan 2000 ISA Implemented: • SAP for Finance • PeopleSoft for Payroll and HR • MRP was a Vought-legacy System • SAP Tailored to Vought-legacy MRP • Procurement system was ACS-legacy tailored to MRP

  4. ERP Activity at Northrop Grumman’sIntegrated Systems Sector (ISS) • What is happening now at Sector? • Northrop Grumman sold Aerostructures to Carlyle Group during the summer of ‘00. • ISA Sector became Integrated Systems Sector • Sector continues to implement SAP and PeopleSoft at individual Business Areas, but • replacing Vought-Legacy MRP with ACS-legacy • SAP and Procurement tailored to ACS-legacy MRP • PeopleSoft still used for Payroll and HR

  5. ERP Activity at Northrop Grumman’sIntegrated Systems Sector (ISS) • What is DCAA (Arlington Branch Office) doing? • Very little! • Sector established 1 Jan 1999. • Sector and Aerostructures Business Area implemented effective 1 Jan 2000 without significant DCAA/DCMA involvement. • ISS has not allowed the government opportunity for significant participation in implementation at remaining individual Business Areas. • Upon sale of Aerostructures, Sector support for DCAA audits of common systems was curtailed. • What should the Arlington Branch be doing? • Playing catch-up. Reviews systems (to the extent possible) at Sector of common systems. • Major task is coordination of audit effort (ICAPS, CAS, Implementation, etc) on common systems at Sector and individual Business Areas. • Providing assistance to Business Area DCAA Offices as necessary in their reviews of systems and Cost Accounting Changes/Cost Impacts.

  6. ERP Activity at Northrop Grumman’sIntegrated Systems Sector (ISS) • Lessons learned? • Attempt to participate in implementation process early. • Coordinate with each business area early. • Get Technical Specialist participation.
