  3. TWNIC’s mDNS Suggestions • For each ccTLD NIC: • One ccTLD in local language(s) & encoding(s) • One gTLD in local language(s) & encoding(s) • The corresponding ccTLD(s) and gTLD(s) in UTF-8 encoding also

  4. CgTLDs • Concentrate on .com-equivalent only initially • Need coordination because of possible conflicts in UTF-8 • Should go for international standardization

  5. Issues for Chinese Language • Traditional Chinese <-> Simplified Chinese • Many encodings: Big5, GB & others

  6. Issues for Chinese Characters • Need coordination for UTF-8: Choose which one? • 2 Chinese characters only? 2-4 Chinese characters?
