  3. Your friend Jimmy Bob Jo said that your iPhone is not an example of matter. You think it is. How can you prove it? What tool would you need to use?

  4. Show your knowledge another way… • Draw a picture of something that has matter in it that you would find in the gym.

  5. Strand 1 GLE 2 Describe and compare the volumes (the amount of space an object occupies) of objects or substances directly, using a graduated cylinder, and/or indirectly, using displacement methods.

  6. Susan has a graduated cylinder that has 100 mL of water in it. She places a rock in the cylinder and finds that the rock has a volume of 40 mL. What was the total volume that Susan had seen in the graduated cylinder?

  7. Show your knowledge another way… • Draw a student using displacement to measure the volume of a rock using a graduated cylinder using a 3 box comic strip.
