SOCC Long Term Plans • Spacecraft • NOAA-19 On-Orbit Test of R-Gyro enhancements – Nov 2013 • SOMS SFTP – no impact to EUM • Jason-3 Acceptance Testing efforts ongoing through 2013 • SNPP/NDE Transition to OSPO Operations Meeting July 2013 • COOP Exercises - POES/GOES, ESPC, and DMSP Q2 2014 • WCDA Staffing Consolidation Planning – Summer 2014 • WEBIC implementation for antenna control • Jason-3 Launch Mar 2015 • Decommission planning for GOES-12 in Q3 2013 (pending approval)

Feasibility of LAC Recovery at SVL • Objective: • Research the feasibility of SVL to support users LAC request in the event CDA outages • Known: • There is no requirement for LACS to be taken at IJPS SVL. • NOAA-19 is the only POES mission that records LAC data. • LAC data are recorded for ~12mins. This covers (Km swath) • ESPC processes the LAC data. SOCC does not process a LAC. • File size = XXX bytes • LAC Recovery Scenario: • Multiple LACs may be recorded per orbit depending on the users request. • Multiple LACs are dumped per orbit. There can be up to 4 LACs dumped at a CDA. • Using multiple transmitters multiple LACs can be recovered at NOAA CDAs. • LACs can be played simultaneously with GAC or other LAC recovery. • This is done to recover all recorded LACs • PBK time of a LAC is 3 mins • LACs to NSOF from NOAA CDA require 6 mins.

LAC Recovery over SVL • STX-2 is used over SVL for NOAA-19 for mission data recovery. • LAC recovery would be done sequentially following GAC recovery. • LAC XFER from SVL to NOAA gateway=45mins/GAC • GAC + LAC = 90 mins • Other LACs recovered would be transferred later. • Issues: • SOMs requires substantial changes to transfer data over the CE to ESPC • SOM requires substantial changes to playback data over SVL • CE would require changes to accept a LAC datatype.
