  2. 1 2 3 A new icon will also appear in the tree view under Reference. Start by importing a new CAD model. Follow the path “file/import/CAD Models” The imported CAD model will appear on the main viewer window TIP: You can view or hide the CAD object by hovering over the icon and clicking the middle mouse button

  3. 4 5 6 Both the scan and a CAD object are now shown on the main viewer window. The system will prompt you to select the right units to import data Import scan data sets by following the path “File/import/Point Clouds” TIP: You can view or hide the CAD or Scan object by hovering over the icon on the tree and clicking the middle mouse button TIP: by default, scan will be imported in millimeters, the units can be changed after TIP: You can also import polygon objects; the system will automatically recognize them as test data

  4. 9 7 8 Align the CAD and Scan dat using “Best Fit Data Objects/Data to Reference” You can also use the best fit button found on the main menu Pick the reference and data objects, set a maximum distance. TIP: This menu will only work if you have imported both the reference and data objects TIP: most function found in text menu can be found as buttons in the menu interface TIP: the “All” option to select any item on the three, or pick “specific” to narrow down your selection options

  5. 12 11 10 Match the views on both sides and pick matching points on each object. A new “Best-fit to ref 1” icon will appear on the tree under Data Alignments Click on the right to finalize the dialog, both objects are now aligned TIP: to simplify your task, match the view of each window so the objects look the same, this will make it easier to find matching pairs of points TIP: the “All” option to select any item on the three, or pick “specific” to narrow down your selection options TIP: depending on the geometry, you may pick automatic instead of point pairs to skip the matching process.
