  1. Clean, green and it pays off Take a look at your roof – could your school save money with solar energy?

  2. Why run on sun? • Save up to £8,000 per year for your school • The NAHT and NUT support the campaign • Teach your children about clean energy

  3. Financial benefits If every school in England and Wales had solar panels, together they could save nearly £1 million on a sunny day.

  4. Is there enough sun?

  5. Can my school run on sun? You need: • A south-facing roof or wall that gets plenty of sun • A roof or wall that’s strong enough for panels • East-west and flat roofs can still perform well

  6. How can you pay for your panels?

  7. Option 1. Your local authority funds the scheme

  8. Option 2. The council buys the panels

  9. Option 3. You look for a community share offer

  10. Option 4. Fundraise!

  11. Option 5. Rent panels from a finance company

  12. Option 6. Businesses install the panels with no upfront cost • NB. this involves borrowing – we’re currently working with Nicky Morgan to make this possible!

  13. Case study: Saltaire Primary School

  14. Case study: Hanover Primary School
