  2. Summary I just read the book The Great Kapok Tree by Lynne Cherry. The setting is the rainforest . It is about all kinds of jungle animals that try to persuade a man not to cut down the great Kapok Tree .The problem is that the man is cutting it down and the animals and the boy are trying to persuade the man not to cut down the tree wile he is sleeping because it’s their home. I rate this book 10 out of 10 kapok trees because it has great illestrations . So go to your library and check out The Great Kapok Tree by Lynne Cherry.

  3. Text-to-text connection I just read the book The Salamander Room and The Great Kapok Tree and made a text-to-text connection .They both have natural habitats .The boy in The Salamander Room had turned his room into a rainforest. The Salamander Room and The Great Kapok Tree.

  4. Text-to-self connection I just read the book The Great Kapok Tree and made a text-to –self connection . I made this connection because I’ve seen a live snake before . It was awesome it shed it’s skin and everything . Oh yah I saw it at Petco and it was a boa constricter . Just like in the book there was a boa constricter . It was also in the aquarium . In the story the boa constricter hissed just like in Petco .In the book the boa also lives in a tree called the great kapok tree.He persuaded not to cut down the tree . So that’s my text-to-self connection.

  5. Text-to-world connection I just read the book The Great Kapok Tree by Lynne Cherry and made a text-to-world connection . I made this connection because trees are very valuable to lots of animals including owls , jaguars , birds , and lots of other animals . It is also very helpful because it is paper which really helps us. So that’s my connection.
