Slide 6 TODAY NUBIP OF UKRAINE TRAINS: • approximately40thousand students (14,5 thousand – in 1990) by 43specialties (13 – in 1990), including13specialtiestaught in English; • over600PhD, post-doctoral fellows and students-seekers – by48specialties; • about5thousandspecialistsofproductionareaintheInstitutesofContinuingEducationannually, at its Kyiv Territorial Center, Southern Branch "Crimean Agro-Technological University" and at 12 regional higher educational institutions.

  8. Slide 7 EDUCATIONAL PROCESS AND RESEARCH IS PROVIDED BY: • over 3000 scientific-pedagogical and pedagogical staff including: • 300 Professors and Doctors; • more than 1200 PhDs and Associate Professors; • 50 current Academicians and Corresponding Members of Academies of Sciences of Ukraine.

Slide 20 THE MAIN CHALLENGES FACING THE UNIVERSITIES OF AGRICULTURE AND LIFE SCIENCES IN TERMS OF GLOBAL DEVELOPMENT ARE: • The impact of global climate change on world production and food security ensuring; • Increasing problem of food, air, fresh and sea water quality and safety deterioration; • Struggle against the rising number of starving people in the world; • Soil fertility remediation; • Rational use of Planet’s biomass in terms of energy conservation.

Slide 21 The Universities of Agriculture and Life Science should play a key role in solving the above mentioned problems because their mission consists in: • training specialists; • providing scientific support of food and agricultural technologies to result increasing of quality and amount of food and agricultural products; • participation in social and cultural development of rural areas.

Slide 22 2011 • The Corporation “International Scientific Park “Environmental Biosafety and Life Quality” is being established on the basis of the NUBiP of Ukraine. • The financial organizations which are the participants and partners of our Scientific Park have allocated significant financial funds for its functioning.
