  2. PBS • Supporting Good Decisions • Be Responsible • Be Respectful • Be Ready • Rewards every 9 weeks

  3. Academics • Student instruction, activities, and homework are differentiated. • Students work in small group settings. • Benchmark testing ensures that each student has prescriptive academics.

  4. Computer Lab • Students work on academic computer programs throughout the year. • We offer programs such as A+, Orchard, and Starfall. • Benchmarking on each student is done with computer programs such as MAPS and Star Early Literacy.

  5. Arrival 7:30-7:45 (Tardy after 7:45) Big Gym • Breakfast is served in classroom. Students must arrive by 7:30 am to eat breakfast at school. • Dismissal 2:30 at teacher’s back door – Children must be signed out each day by an adult listed on your child’s data form. • Check outs are also counted as tardies • Attendance • Send notes or Dr. statements for absences within 3 days after returning

  6. Show and Tell at teacher’s request • Label all things (jackets, lunch box, backpack, etc... • All money enclosed in envelope and labeled with child’s name and teacher’s name on it • Please specify what money is for (lunch, field trip, book order, etc….)

  7. Birthdays and Parties • Snacks (no drinks) • Water fountain in K room • Please send healthy foods (Coordinated School Health Plan)

  8. Breakfast Will be served in the classroom at 7:30 am. Breakfast – Full Price 1.00 Reduced Price .30 • Breakfast will not be served to children arriving after 7:30 am. • Please notify your child’s teacher if your child should not eat breakfast at school. Accounts will be charged.

  9. Lunch • 11:00 – 11:30 am • If your child brings his/her lunch, no drinks are allowed to be brought from home. • However, if there is a medical need, discuss with Ms. Julie, PK-2 Principal. Lunch – Full Price 1.75 Reduced Price .40 Any questions, call Ms. Jan Page ext. 406

  10. Take-Home Folders Keep and Return Practice work: completed with help as needed Formative assessments: variety of checks for understanding Summative assessments: graded work completed individually Homework (5 to 10 minutes) Behavior Calendar Discuss behavior expectations (rewards and consequences)

  11. Check folder daily for information coming home and please return the next day. • Whole Group/Small Group/Individualized Instruction

  12. New Phonics Curriculum • Wilson Fundations • Sight Words, Color Words, Number Words • Daily Practice is Needed!

  13. Extra clothes • Standard dress attire • Health Concerns • Data Information • Keep updated • Dismissal Information • (not by e-mail)

  14. Student records (birth certificate, social security card, immunization certificate, physical, and 2 proofs of residency) should be turned in no later than August 30th to your child’s teacher.
