Why ASTRA • Some SPICE case studies are more detailed, some are rather limited in scope • Nonetheless they show you a broad spectre of potential ways and means to carry out a successful case study • ASTRA is an example linked to human resources development and career enhancement which is a key topic of SPICE as far as I am concerned • The results from the ASTRA case can be used as model for questions we will ask during our field work • Next slides: the SPICE summary of the ASTRA case Klaus Jurgens Train the Trainers I www.tepek.org

  6. 1: Internal communication • In order to achieve its goal, ASTRA believes that it must continue to attract the best talent available across all disciplines, constantly encourage people to develop their full potential and grow them as business leaders with clear career paths to success.   7. 2: Industry-Academia pathways • To identify and recruit the best people, ASTRA’s Recruitment and Career Development Department actively engage in close partnership with respected universities to develop high calibre human resources through its Astra Goes to Campus (ATGC) programme Klaus Jurgens Train the Trainers I www.tepek.org

  8. 3: An introduction to leadership • In 2005, Astra initiated the Astra Development Centre, which responds to identify, assess and develop future leaders through regular training and career development programmes.   9. 4: The work environment • Building a supportive working environment is a key aspect of human resource management and Astra actively engages in activities to ensure that this is an ongoing process.
