  1. A Journey into the Joys of Jesus Preparation for the Study of the life of Christ April 14, 2013

  2. Sample: Chronology of Jesus (Luke) Luke 3 The Baptism and Genealogy of Jesus 21 When all the people were being baptized, Jesus was baptized too. And as he was praying, heaven was opened22 and the Holy Spirit descended on him in bodily form like a dove. And a voice came from heaven: “You are my Son, whom I love; with you I am well pleased.” 23 Now Jesus himself was about thirty years old when he began his ministry. He was the son, so it was thought, of Joseph, Luke 4 Jesus Is Tested in the Wilderness 4 Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, left the Jordan and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness, 2 where for forty days he was tempted by the devil. He ate nothing during those days, and at the end of them he was hungry… 13 When the devil had finished all this tempting, he left him until an opportune time. Jesus Rejected at Nazareth 14 Jesus returned to Galilee in the power of the Spirit, and news about him spread through the whole countryside.15 He was teaching in their synagogues, and everyone praised him

  3. Focus of the four Gospels Matthew Wrote to a Jewish audience, emphasizing Jesus’ fulfillment of Old Testament prophecy, proving that He is the long-awaited Messiah. Mark Wrote a fast-paced, condensed account, recording Jesus’ miraculous deeds and not recording His long discourses. Luke Portrays Jesus as the remedy of the world’s ills, emphasizing His perfect humanity and humane concern for the weak, the suffering, and the outcast. John Emphasizes Jesus’ deity by selecting many conversations and sayings of Jesus on the subject and also including “signs” that prove He is the Son of God
