  2. René Magritte • René Magritte was a Belgian surrealist artist. He became well known for a number of witty and amusing images. • Surrealism is a cultural movement that began in the early-1920s. • The works of artists such as Dalí and Magritte often feature the element of surprise.

  11. This one is tricky….look very closely to spot what is unusual.

  12. Your Turn… • Think of three objects or animals. • Combine them to make a surprising combination. • Draw them in a Magritte style picture. • Paint/colour your picture. Remember: Use the whole page!

  13. Your Turn… • Trace around an old CD in the middle of a piece of paper. Add lines around the circle to turn it into an eye, including eyelashes. • Trace all the pencil lines with a black crayon. • Drawan image inside the eye which reflects something you like to look at. Remember: the inside of your eye could reflect ANYTHING

  14. Your Turn… • Draw clouds on the template of the bird and colour it like the sky. • Cut out your bird. • Stick your bird onto a coloured piece of paper.
