  2. Progress since June 2011… • Activity workshop training is now available on a rolling programme. This is available to Health, Social Work and Care Home Staff. • An Activity Network Forum has been established, offering individuals peer support and training. This forum is bi-monthly and is open to any individuals who are carrying out activities with Older People. • Activity Website is being launched today!

  3. Pilot project funded by the Scottish Government Health Department • Actively EngAGED will be a website bringing together evidence based practise, tools and techniques • Offers one point of access for anyone supporting an Older Person in any care setting • Actively EngAGED emphasises the importance of older people and individuals with dementia to remain engaged in everyday life. • Initially the project will be piloted in Ayrshire, however the outcomes will be share nationally

  4. Based on ‘Make Every Moment Count’ tool • This is an evidence based Scottish National Guide to valuing everyday activity • Comprises 5 key messages that underpin the promotion and use of activity in any care setting • This tool has been developed in partnership with Health, Care Inspectorate, BUPA etc

  5. 5 Key Messages • Get to know me • It’s not just what you do…it is how you make me feel • Know what I can do and support me to do it • Help me to feel comfortable, safe and secure in my surroundings • Remember the little things add up

  6. Quality assured and easily accessible materials through one point of access • Ideas, hints and tips about a wide range of everyday activities • “How to” suggestions to tailor and adapt activities so that is works for the individual • A ‘blog’ spot to share ideas, feedback and experiences from frontline staff • Information about events/training
