  6. Pre-Buncher & RFQ ISAC-I RF Amplifiers Locations Bunch Rotator, Chop5 &Chop11 Mebt Rebuncher, Hebt 11 DTL, Hebt 35

  7. ISAC-I RF Control Station Locations • Four control stations to control 16 amplifiers • Station#2 : Pre-Buncher & RFQ (2) • Station#3 : MEBT Rebuncher; DTL T1, B1, T2, B2, T3 & B3 • (7) • Station#1 : Bunch Rotator, Chopper5 & Chopper11 (3) • Station#4: DTL T4 &T5; HEBT 11MHz Buncher & • 35MHz Buncher (4) • DSB Station: DSB bunch (1)

  8. Control Station #1(Rotator, Choppers) & #2(Pre-Bunncher, RFQ)

  9. Control Station #3 (Mebt Rebuncher,T1…B3) & #4 (Tank4, 5, Hebt 11/35Mhz bunchers)

  10. Tuners in each rf device • Tuners disabled in some systems Chopper 5MHz, Chopper 11 MHz MEBT Rebuncher & HEBT 11 MHz buncher • One fine tuner is running for close loop RFQ (two coarse tuner), Bunch Rotator, DTL system & HEBT 35 MHz buncher (one coarse tuner) • Coarse tuners can only be moved manually.

  11. How to Turn on Amplifiers • Local turn on PA (PA control @ local) Turn on PS (including AC breaks 480/208V), Reset PA, Turn on PA; reset to kill all red-light when PA ready Then switch PA control  remote • Remote turn on PA (PA control @ remote) Open control panel for turn on PA, Reset PA, Turn on PA (when ready, all green)

  12. How to Turn on RF • Local turn on RF (on Local control stations) PA ready for turning on rf , RF control programs on, (1) Set ‘Amplitude point’ at about 400 (2) Click ‘Auto on’ (*) Reset PA locally if PA trips off • Remote turn on RF (Control rooms) PA ready for turning on rf , PA control programs on, (1) Set ‘Amplitude point’ at about 400 (2) Click ‘Auto on’ (*) Reset PA &Turn on PA if PA trips off

  13. Rebooting system • Reboot rf control program (just reboot one of the programs) Turn off rf, turn off the control program (do not save it!) Then restart the control program • Reboot rf control program & rf control board (one only) Turn off rf, turn off the control program (do not save it!) and reset the knob of rf control board Then restart the control program • Reboot VXI create and PC station Turn off all rf, turn off all control program (do not save it!) turn off PC ps (or restart) and turn off VXI ps (Turn on VXI, PC & RF while control programs on; always last off, first on)

  14. Reboot PC , VXI Create & RF Control Board

  15. DTL PA Control Panels 408V breaker 208V breaker

  16. RF Control Pages in Local PC

  17. RF Control Pages in Control Room

  18. PA/RF Working Status page

  19. RFQ RF Control Devices

  20. Always Making Record after Jobs Done • Write down what you have done, what you saw for PAs status on the local notebook & on Operation’s Logbook • Tell operator what you have done which may affect beams • Waite for operator’s requests after repairing or maintenances

  21. Spare Parts Locations • Tubes RFQ (4CW150,000, Rf room), HEBT 35 MHz (4CW30,000, Rf room) Rotator (3CX3000A7 , Cabinet close to RFQ) DTL (4CW25,000, Area back side HEBT PA ) • Power supplies (Area back side HEBT PA ) DTLPA drivers, Bias/Screen ps HEBT 35/DSB Buncher Bias/Scrn ps RFQ filament ps, Pre-buncher amplifier HEBT 35/DSB Buncher (ISAC-II rf room) • Tuners, couplers & spare parts (Cabinets close to RFQ)
