Attendance Policy Excused Absence Bring note to Attendance office Reasons for excused absence: • Sickness (Repeated sickness will require doctor’s note) • Medical appointment • Religious reasons Passports Student must bring a note signed by a parent to the Attendance office before leaving school for an appointment Unexcused Absence No note submitted to an Administrative office within three day period Student left campus without a passport Not an excused reason Consequences May Include: IB has its own attendance policy – as well as: • Loss of employability skills • Zero grade for assignments and tests on that day • Loss of Driver’s license privilege by State of Florida after 15 days of unexcused periods. • Parent/Student Conference with Attendance worker • Alternative placement • CINS/FINS Petition • Case Staffing • Court Order

  9. Tardy Policy Be on time to class! Consequences may include: • Loss of valuable instructional time • After-school detention • Discipline referral • In School Suspension • Saturday School • Parking Revoked

  10. Dress CodeDress for the business of learning. Stay Classy Riverview! NO low cut shirts, exposed shoulders, short shorts and/or skirts, bathing suits, hats, t-shirts with profanity, low pants. * Slide created by Cristina Chiodi

  11. Dress Code Policy Shirts need to cover your torso. Pants need to be at waist level. Skirts/Shorts need to come to your thumb (with hands down). Shirts need to cover your shoulders and your back. Shirts with messages need to be positive (and legal). Please no transparent, mesh, fishnet or see-through clothing. Consequences May Include: Change of clothes (Clothes Closet) Notify parent In School Suspension

  12. Electronic Devices From 7:30a.m.-2:15p.m. electronic devices need to be powered down and put away. This includes (but not limited to): • Cell phones, I-Pads, Tablets, etc. • Consequences May Include: • First Offense - Surrender for the day pick up at 2:15 in attendance office • Second Offense- Parent Pick Up • Third Offense - Saturday School

Messages for Students • Emergencies only – messages and • deliveries will not be made to classrooms. • All transportation must be arranged before school. • School buses will only transport students who are scheduled to ride the bus. • Attendance office/IB Office has phones available for student use. • Avoid doctors appointments during the school day.

  14. Lunch Students may eat only in the Cafeteria either inside or outside eating area. Lunch account pin numbers and lunch periods (we have 3) are located on your schedule. We have 8 serving lines and plenty of choices. Designated lunch bathrooms, buildings 1 and 5 (north end only).

  16. School Resource Officer (SRO) • Student safety comes first Proctor and Lords Road(s) are not drop off areas • Parking rules and regulations • Obey traffic laws • Go Slow! • Entering and exiting

  17. Two School Resource Officers are on campus + Six Security Aides • Student safety comes first – report all related concerns to SRO’s, security aides, IB leadership and/or teachers • Fourteen Security Cameras are vigilant 24/7

  21. Slide created by Cristina Chiodi Schedules This is the building and room number of each of your classes. For Example: 05-333, that classroom will be in building five, on the third floor. This area should be your information. (Name, Grade, Pin, etc.) This part of the schedule shows your classes. You’ll attend those classes, in that order. This column shows you the teachers for your classes. The teacher’s name will line-up with the class they teach.

  22. Schedules/Guidance • Please no schedule changes, different lunch, different teacher, different class period…. • Class size amendment has mandated 25 students in all core classes. • High demand for classes

  23. Cross Pointe • Cross Pointe has your student’s schedule, grades, attendance, teachers’ emails, etc. • Data is “real time” and updated daily. • If you need a login and password, please go to the RHS website to register.

  24. Helpful Suggestions • Arrive early (especially the first two weeks). • Bring lunch the first few days. • Please hold off on buying all school supplies until you get your Fact Sheets on the first day.   27. All Parents & Students • Open House is Wed., Sept. 5, from 6 - 8 p.m. • First Quarter Progress Reports will be issued at the end of October • Check IB website and Facebook for ongoing information
