    1. Step-by-Step Process for use of Tri-Merit to obtain Age & Source Verification

    2. What do you need to qualify for a Tri-Merit Age & Source Process Verified Program (PVP) Approval? The steps to follow will make it easy for you to accomplish this procedure

    3. Step 1 To start the Age & Source PVP approval process, the Operation will work with the WALCO Rep to answer the 21 questions about the ranches operation which is required by the USDA.

    4. Step 2 Once answered, the WALCO Rep will fax the answered form to a toll free fax telephone number: 1-806-622-8748 along with required documents for the PVP approval desk audit process. Examples of this would be: page of your calving book; calendar of date that first animal is born; veterinary records; etc…

    5. Step 3 The operation will be notified by the Global Animal Management auditor by telephone to discuss the audit Please keep in mind that depending on how fast the ranch gets his required information into the auditor, this process of approval can be very short or long Lastly, an operation that “waits” for the last minute to obtain approval may not succeed because of the time required to properly conduct the audit

    6. Step 4 Tag cattle with program compliant RFID Tags (Tri-Merit electronic tag) before they leave your Operation RFID/EID tag should be placed in the LEFT EAR Operations which have data collection software & hardware in place can use their system and e-mail to the WALCO Rep for upload If the Operation does not have data collection software or hardware, there are a couple of easy ways to obtain this data: Save the first EID “baggy” used and the last “baggy” used when processing the cattle. Keeping in mind these baggies are in sequential order and the numbers are listed on the outside of the baggy (or) Save all the baggies (then) The Operation will be responsible to give the WALCO Rep the baggies in either case

    7. Step 5 After data is given to the WALCO Rep, it should be uploaded into the Tri-Merit data base The website for this is www.tri-merit.com This will be facilitated by Walco Technologies

    8. Step 6 Once calves are ready to be shipped, the WALCO Rep can finalize and print a Tri-Merit PVP certificates to travel with the calves into commerce or simply e-mail it to the buyer A major benefit to this system is that a group or individual certificate can be created

    9. Step 7 For help with any question the WALCO Rep or Producer may have, GAM provides a toll free telephone number to assist them: 1-800-235-9824 opt. # 2 Please keep in mind that the same process can be used for a Feedyard but they have to use the 12 question form
