  2. Main goals • 1. A postgraduate education and the award of the degree: Doctor in “Landscape Architecture and Urban Ecology”; 2. The collaboration of the three universities, sharing teaching and research of the doctoral program.

  3. Curricular units • Seminar in Theory and Methods in Landscape Architecture and Ecology (1st semester) • Orientationseminar (Anual) • AdvancedprojectinLandscape Architecture (1st semester) • Optional discipline • Proposed by the UC: Configuração Dinâmica dos Territórios / DinamicConfigurationofTerritories (FalcultyofHumanities, 2nd semester)

  4. Academiccalendar • Start: 1st October 2010 • Schedule: Labor hours (Fridays and Saturdays) • End of the 1st semester – January 28th • 2nd semester – March to July (Except for the optional discipline, which starts in February)

  5. Thesis • End of 1st semester • Presentation of pre-proposals for dissertation • Second semester • Preparation of the thesis proposal • Attribution of a evaluation committee to each student. It will be responsible for the evaluation of the proposal • End of 2nd semester • Submission of the thesis proposal (min. 10 pages and a max. of 20 pages) which should be read by the Assessment panel, after an oral presentation • It may be considered for approval, subjected to modifications (one month to change the proposal), or refused.
