    2. Context Main campus located in Brighton & Hove city centre plus sites in East and West of city Currently serve around 5,372 learners, of which 722 are full-time adults and 3,143 part-time adults. Employ approximately 420 tutors PET provision is a relatively new venture ALR, Train to Gain, and PCDL funding currently used to support PET provision Highly committed to employer responsiveness

    3. Stand Out from the Crowd Pilot roll-on-roll-off programme using Edexcel suite of WorkSkills qualifications which can be combined to form a BTEC Award, Certificate or Diploma. Aimed at the recently redundant or unemployed Trialling two level2 units: Applying for a Job and Preparing for an Interview Course is in two parts, over two days, and learners can start on either a Monday or Wednesday beginning in June and running through to July 2009. If successful, pilot will be carried through into the Autumn Learner target of 208, each learner completing 20glh Free to JCP claimants and Ł49 per unit for non claimants

Shine (1) Targets the long term unemployed (6 months +) Flexible and new range of training options in sectors where there are real employment opportunities Qualifications and skills that meet the needs of employers and give the jobseeker a step up in terms of their employability Strong support package that builds the skills and confidence of the jobseeker Opportunity to assist jobseekers into sustainable employment Clear and flexible progression routes onto further work based training through Train to Gain, Apprenticeships and College based part-time and full-time courses

Shine (2) Offer all learners options from a number of ‘core’ generic units which they can undertake, as appropriate Coupled with a choice of ‘Industry Pathways’ to choose from which will lead to sector specific courses: Hospitality (specifically local Hotels – Catering/Kitchen) Care (including Public Sector) Call Centres Learners who wish to pursue self employment can access additional Core Enterprise Units Learner target of 250, each completing an average of 50glh

Establishing effective referral systems (eg JCP) Ensuring internal systems deliver responsiveness Reaching target audience & translating queries into enrolments Course numbers & viability Understanding the marketplace and identifying need Matching policy aims to what learners want
