The Source. • The Source is at the start of the river Severn. • Location: Plynlimon, Cambrian Mountains, Powys, Wales. • Elevation: 610m 2,001ft. • Coordinates: 52.493465°N 3.734578°W. • It rains a lot in the Mountains or Wales. The area around the source of the River Severn receives and annual precipitation ( rainfall) up to about2.5 meters! This keeps the ground soackedin water for much of a year.

  3. The Tributaries. • A Tributary is a smaller River that joins a bigger river. • Afon Clywedog: Joins the Severn at llandoles. • River Camlad : Joins the Severn at Camlad. Borle Brook joins the Severn at Arley and a lot more.

  4. The Meanders. • There are many Meanders around caersws because the river is now folloing across low land. • A Meander is a bend in a river. Meanders normally occour in the middle lower courses where the water is moving slowly.

  5. The Mouth! • At its mouth a river flows into another body of water. The mouth of the river Seven flows into the Bristol channel.
