  3. Lot’s mistake • Did he not know of their wickedness? • He was a wealthy man, likely with extensive business dealings in the area. • Did Anticipation of gain blind his mind? • Mark 4:18-19, 2 Corinthians 4:3-4

  4. Lot’s mistake • Things not sinful • Prosperity – Psalm 49:6-9; 1 timothy 6:6-12, 17-19 • Planning for the future – Proverbs 27:23 • Actions taken to increase wealth – proverbs 10:4 • Lot didn’t consider the impact of the environment.

Pitching tents toward Sodom: • Individuals do it when they: • Choose Worldly companions. – 1 Corinthians 15:33, 1 kings 21:25 • Attend services only when convenient. – Matthew 6:33, Colossians 3:2 • Admire the world and worldly men. – proverbs 23:17, 24:1; psalm 119:63, 1 John 2:15-17 • Do not avoid every form of evil. – 1 thess. 5:22; Proverbs 5:8, 23:31; romans 13:13-14; 1 Corinthians 10:13
