An Overview: Defining the E-Portfolio Electronic portfolios include seven major characteristics in that they represent: • a collection of work, • a selection of work culled from an archival collection, • reflection on the composing process, • a presumed development of works, • a diversity of works, • a communicative quality, as well as • an evaluative section. Other things I’ve learned… • Karen is, from time to time and by choice, consciously unconcious. • Charles likes Mexican food and drives a hybrid that gets 600 miles/tank • Marcus makes good brownies—albeit they were several days old by the time they made it to us • Cody doesn’t work here…but Jody does, and he loves his dog. • We are all excited about our profession, even when/if we’ve been at it for years. • Finally, one of the most significant questions I could ask a student at the end of the semester is: Now, what can you DO with this?
