R&HS Program Update • 2010 New Streamer Criteria • Savannah – Large Post – 2 Required and 6 of 8 Desired • 3 Principal Criteria • Collaborate and Conduct Outreach • One Required and three desired criteria • Training and Education of Committee Members • One required and two desired criteria • Committee Members Engage in Discussion of R&HS Outside of the Post • Three desired criteria

USACE Response Capabilities • USACE Civil Disaster • Emergency Support Function #3 Lead under the National Response Framework • Cadres • Team Leaders and Assistant Team Leaders • Local Government Liaisons • Structural Safety Assessment for Urban Search and Rescue • Subject Matter Experts • Planning and Response Teams • Response: Power, Water, Ice, Infrastructure Assessment • Recovery: Debris, Roofing /Rapid Repair, Housing/Critical Public Facilities • We have recently used team members for work in Haiti and Pakistan – and foresee more of this happening

USACE Response Capabilities • USACE Field Force Engineering • Support to COCOMs • Field Engineering Support Team (FEST-A and M) • Contingency Real Estate Support Team (CREST) • Environmental Support Team (EnvST) • Reachback • USACE Reachback Operations Center • Automated Route Recon Kit (ARRK) • Tele-Engineering Equipment - mobile, secure VTC • Have used these teams for Civil Disaster work and see using them more in the future

  5. USACE Advanced Contract Initiative (ACI) Contracts • Temporary Power • Water • Ice • Debris • Roofing • World-wide Power from NAP (Not ACI – but we can use it!)

Questions to Members • Do you know your firm’s capabilities in disaster response? • Have you spoken with you local County or City Emergency Manager regarding the gaps they have found? • Are you on a team that holds a USACE ACI Contract? • Are you on a team that holds a FEMA IA-TAC or PA-TAC contract?
