Early Life • Christopher was born in 1451, in Genoa, Italy. • Christopher taught himself to speak Portuguese, Spanish and Latin. • Christopher’s father put him in a business job. • He moved to Portugal and worked on ships. • He was married Felipa Perestello e Moniz in 1479. • He was also an agent in Spinola, Dinegro.

  4. He Was Looking For… • Silk, spices , jewels and gold in the new land.

  6. Challenges They Face During The Journey • Some days there was not enough wind. • Also they began to see some yellow and green seaweed. The sailors herd about a sea monster. • Some people had to sleep outside, fleas and lice was a problem.

  7. Discoveries He Made… • He brought back 6 islanders, some parrots and lots of gold. • Columbus also discover the Bahamas.

  8. Facts • Christopher also had 1 son and was married. • He also had 4 voyages across the Atlantic Ocean.
