Do • Select a unique password. • Make your password easy for you to remember, but hard for someone else to guess. • Use at least seven characters; the more characters, the better (as long as you can remember them). • Passwords should contain a mixture of upper/lowercase letters, and at least one number. • Intersperse punctuation marks or symbols such as #, $, %, etc.

Don’t • Passwords should not be your username, first name, last name, or pet’s name. • Passwords should not include well known names or identification numbers. • Passwords should not include common words from an English dictionary or foreign-language dictionary. • Passwords should not contain commonly used proper names, including the name of any fictional character or place. • Passwords should not be your birthday, address, phone number, or social security number. • Do not use blank spaces in your password.
