  3. The Greek name of the God • The Greek name of the god is Hestia.

  4. The Roman name for the God • The Roman name for Hestia is Vesta.

  5. Symbols associated with Hestia • Hestia’s symbol is hearth. The hearth fire of a Greek or a Roman household was not allowed to go out. At the more developed level of the polis, Hestia symbolizes the alliance between the colonies and their mother cities.

  6. Hestia’s Domain • Hestia is the goddess of the family union, she is also known as the goddess of fire. Her personification gave people the idea of home. And the fire of Hestia was always kept burning.

  7. Hestia’s Relatives • Hestia is one of the three Great Goddesses of the first Olympian generation. Hestia, Demeter, Hera, Zeus, Poseidon, and Hades are siblings. Her parents are Cronus and Rhea

  8. Hestia’s weapon • There is no specific weapon for Hestia, but her heart keeps the fire to keep burning, and her mind made people to think of home and their household.

  9. Special Powers of Hestia • Hestia is known to be mild mannered and upstanding. She never takes part in any arguments or wars. Hestia only minds her own business. Her awareness is focused and her energy is impersonal. Unlike Athena and Artemis, she didn’t venture out to explore the world. She remained inside, contained within the heart.

  10. Special Personality Traits • Hestia’s personality is calm. She was one of the nicest godess among the Olympian generation. She gave up her seat in favour of newcomer Dionysus to tend to the sacred fire on Mt. Olympus. Hestia was very considerate to the others.
