  4. Hardware Components ATMEL 8-bit Microcontroller, AT90S8535 (Development Board) Octal Peripheral Driver Array, ULN2803 Relays, KS24401 NIDA 130E Test Console

  5. Software Components • Visual Basic 6.0 , for microprocessor program design. • ATMEL AVR RISC assembly language for microcontoller program interface

  6. Console Description • Purpose to introduce students to various AC and DC circuit configurations. • Operates with manual or software application to initiate AC or DC circuit card analysis. • Faults are initiated by program interaction with operator taking manual measurements. • The program will verify operator inputs.

  7. Purpose of Hardware • Interface computer program application with console test procedures. • Decode serial ASCII commands to simulate manual keyboard operation. • Separate keyboard from software application.

  8. Status • Completed • All part have been obtained. • Created Logic Analyzer timing charts of keyboard character representations. • Remaining • Write microcontroller programs to recognize ASCII character. • Simulate program tests.
