  1. Introduction to RISe and your “My Home…” Page A User Guide for Principal Investigators and Research Staff

  2. Your “My Home” Page: • Manage and submit your animal care and human ethics applications • Submit and renew your annual Conflict of Interest declarations • Track your applications through the approval process

  3. “My Roles” • RISe assigns user roles based on your rank and responsibilities • All researchers will have a role called “PI & Staff”. You must operate under this role in order to create, renew or amend your RISe applications • Each role is associated with a different “My Home” template. Click on the role you want to operate under for specific tasks/activities • Other roles you may have include: • Department Approver • Committee Member • ACC Chair • REB Co-Chair • Your active operating role will be bolded and displayed in the color bar above your “My Roles”

I would like to create a new application for… • Clicking on these buttons will create new applications for: • Conflict of Interest • All full-time and part-time members of faculty and staff of the University and any person (including students and visiting professors) who teaches, conducts research, or works under the auspices of the University may be required to file a Conflict of Interest declaration • Human Ethics • Any user can create a new human ethics application and complete the online form. However, only the PI has the authority to submit the application for review. • Animal Care • Any user can create a new animal care application and complete the online form. However, only the PI has the authority to submit the application for review.

  5. Committee Meetings • Click on each of the committee links to view: • Scheduled meeting dates • Deadlines for application submissions

  6. Workspace • Your PI & Staff workspace consists of a number of tabs used to help organize and manage your studies: • My Inbox • Conflict of Interest • Human Ethics • Animal Care • Inactive • My Inbox • This is the default tab of your “My Home…” page • All applications [Human Ethics, Animal Care, Conflict of Interest declarations and Post Approval Activities (PAAs)] that require your attention will appear under your “My Inbox” tab • Applications requiring your attention may include: • Incomplete applications in Pre Submission • Applications that have been sent back for changes as requested by your Department head or Research Ethics Board Administrators (REBAs); or • Provisos that have been issued following committee/board review

  7. Conflict of Interest • This tab contains your COI/COC Declaration • Your most current declaration can be found under the Conflict of Interest/Conflict of Commitment (current) subheading • Any amendments to your declaration undergoing review will show under the Amendments (in progress) subheading

  8. Human Ethics • This tab contains all of your active Human Ethics applications (including those that have Expired) • New applications are shown under the subheading, Human Ethics Applications • Post Approval Activities (PAAs) pending approvals are shown under the subheading, Post Approval Activities (In Progress)

  9. Animal Care • This tab contains all of your active Animal Care applications (including those that have Expired) • New applications are shown under the subheading, Animal Care Applications • Amendments and Renewals shown under their respective subheadings

  10. Inactive • This tab contains all terminated and withdrawn applications • Applications that you have submitted a Completion of Study for will be closed and terminated by your REBA and filed here • Applications that you have “Permanently Inactivated” are also filed under the Inactive tab

  11. Click to access your account profile page Click to return to your (default) My Home page Click to exit out of the RISe system
