  1. HQIP National Clinical Audit Feedback Mechanism (NCAFM)

  2. Introduction HQIP quality improvement strategy launched in November 2011 (1) Improving the national clinical audit programme Need to improve the functionality and effectiveness of the programme and address some issues raised by local and national stakeholders Feedback mechanism for NCAs launched – March 2012

  3. What the system is designed for Highlighting examples of good practice within national clinical audit projects Making constructive suggestions for improvement to projects within the Quality Accounts list Highlighting ongoing or unresolved issues

  4. What the system is not designed for Technical issues in relation to projects (these should be addressed to the relevant provider) Projects with national coverage which do not appear in the Quality Accounts list

  5. Why it is important HQIP receives a great deal of constructive, anecdotal feedback regarding national clinical audits - both positive and covering areas people feel could be strengthened. NCAFM provides an effective on-line system that enables those involved in all aspects of participation in NCAs to comment on their experiences and make suggestions for improvement.

  6. How the NCAFM works Easy to access via HQIP website home page Covers all QA projects via drop down box menu Designed to allow for continuous use and is analysed regularly by HQIP Results posted on website and fed back to project providers Entirely anonymous, but an email feedback option is available

  7. How the NCAFM works cont. Comment boxes for: How the NCA engages with you Practical issues Data quality and audit design Reporting Relevance Overall satisfaction score (1-10)

  8. How we feedback: to project providers For NCAPOP audits:As part of the regular contracting and monitoring arrangements for existing projects, and to inform the development of new projects. For all Quality Accounts projects: Direct email to project manager of the relevant audit, to make them aware of the feedback. Comments are fed back to NAGCAE/DH and may be use in discussions about the QA list.
