The Personal Scorecard • The heart of the scorecard is the purpose. • What is my purpose in the world? • Developing and pursuing a purpose is integral to any plan for an extraordinary life. • The scorecard enables us to focus holistically and systemically on our future. • The scorecard shows domains of action we feel are most relevant to our purpose.

  2. Developing a Scorecard • Consider your purpose in the world. Think of the impact that you can have on others. • Select domains in which you will need to act to accomplish you purpose. • For each domain consider objectives, measures, targets and promises to make. • Creatively show your ideas. Build on this – Like your life, it is a work in progress.

Objective: Be present for my sister Measure: Conversations Target: 1 / fortnight Stand: " I will call Vicky once a fortnight" Others: Be "otherish" Objective: Connect with people Measure: Emotional connection established Target: Connect on 100% of meetings Stand: I will listen deeply to all people I meet Health: Work out! Objective: Stay physically fit Measure: Frequency & length of activity Target: Exercise 5 times a week Stands: I will 1. 20 mins on stationary bike 3 days/wk 2. Run 2 days/wk Faith: Live my faith Objective: Stay connected with God Measure: Frequency of prayer Target: Pray twice daily Stand: I will pray frequently and at least twice daily EXAMPLE of PERSONAL SCORECARD

  5. Success Factors • A Personal Scorecard is successful when • Building a PS teaches us about ourselves • Our thinking develops as we modify our PS • We build our faith and hope through our PS • We move toward our purpose • We refine our purpose as we approach it
