  3. ** IMPORTANT NOTES ABOUT THE SELECTION, CONFIGURATION AND USAGE OF TD 200C SYSTEM KEYS: • The ESC, ENTER, and ARROW keys provide a way to navigate in the TD startup screens so that the TD-to-PLC parameters can be reset from the TD SETUP screen. Regardless if your TD is new or if it is being re-configured, the following notes about establishing communication must be considered when configuring the TD system keys: • Unless your TD 200C baud rate matches the PLC port baud rate, the two devices can never establish communications. All new TD 200C devices are shipped with a default configuration set at 9600 baud. • Until the TD 200C establishes communications with the PLC, a new TD 200C remains in a ‘default configuration mode’ where the keypad is configured like a standard TD 200C (similar to the TD 200). If the TD is not being configured for the first time (not new), it powers up with the last used keypad configuration, in which case you need to have the last-used faceplate to navigate to the system menus (assuming the faceplate had ESC, ENTER, and ARROW keys configured). • In cases where you have a new TD that is shipped with a default baud of 9600 that does not match your PLC settings, then you need to use the supplied TD 200C standard template that is shipped with the TD device. Lay the template temporarily onto the TD keypad (do not adhere it). Use the ESC and ENTER keys and navigate to the DIAGNOSTICS > TD SETUP menu where you can reconfigure the system settings of the TD 200C to match those of your PLC.
