  2. Our Goal The Technology Services Department promotes the use of technology by providing technology training and technical/operational support to schools and the various departments.

  3. Department Organization Executive Director Dr. Mike Hall Instructional Technology Operational Technology Director, Technology Specialists and the Title I Instructional Technologist Help Desk, Network Engineer, Network, Computer and Communications Technicians

  4. Purpose of the Department • The Instructional Technology Department fulfills the district’s mission by helping teachers integrate technology into classroom instruction • By promoting the use of technology • By providing software training • By offering technology integration strategies for differentiated instruction • Operational Technology provides network, technical and communications support for the district.

Technology Initiatives • Infrastructure Upgrade (2013-2014) • Internet Access Upgrade 10Gb • Cabling with Fiber 26 schools • Electronics Upgrades 10Gb • Wireless LAN install 49 locations – 1 Gb • New Data Center: • Virtualization of all Bibb County servers • Dual redundancy • 50Tb of storage • Controlled environment with NOC capabilities • Interconnected directly with a COLO facility (backup, redundancy, and disaster recovery)
