Future Works Stage Procedures of IP TV Standardization • 1st stage (End of 2006) : Solve the urgent market demands and interoperability problem • Possible functional architecture and service deployment scenarios • Available Protocol and interface specifications • 2nd stage (End of 2007) : Solve the outstanding technical issues on QoS, Mobility, Security, Charging, etc. • Provide end-to-end QoS, network/application security • Provide usage-based charging, etc. • 3rd stage(2008 ~): solve the on-going technical issues and business convergence scenarios • Develop protocols and service scenarios with voice and video encoding and security options • Extend NGN capabilities for IP TV service in terms of location, QoS control, navigation, directory, processing, and storaging, etc.
