GIGA Program Overview Global Information and Communication Technology and Governance Academic Program • Offered by the Faculty of Environment and Information Studies at Shounan Fujisawa Campus (SFC) • The new program starts from September 2011 • Core lectures are offered in English • Students are required to have speaking, reading, and writing skills in English • Japanese Language Courses will be provided to study Japanese as well as Japanese cultures • A project-based curriculum designed to develop professional skills GIGA Program =

GIGA Program GIGA Program Focuses on: • Advanced information and communication technology and governance, • New methods to approach complex and unstructured problems, • Skills to formulate problems and find novel solutions to critical social issues, and • Leadership to manage a global project. Students acquire: • Skills to identify and solve practical problems using advanced information and communication technology, • Knowledge of society and its issues, • Governance skills, • Global thinking, and • Practical wisdom and skills that will not rust over a few decades.
