  1. Carrie Schuman Mrs. Russo: E.L.A Book Report

  2. The Tiger Rising By Kate DiCamillo

  3. Kate DiCamillo Kate also wrote the award winners: “Because of Winn Dixie” and “The Tale of Despereaux”

  4. Characters: • Rob Horton- a shy boy who always keeps his feelings stored up inside him. • Sistine Bailey- an outgoing girl with an attitude. • Willie May- a woman that has very good advice for Rob and Sistine. • Robert Horton- Rob’s father who thinks it isn’t okay to cry. • Beauchamp- Robert Horton’s boss. A selfish man with lots of money.

  5. Setting: The story takes place in a small town named Lister in Florida. It rains almost all of the time and there aren’t many people or houses around.

  6. Plot Rob has no friends, his mom died, and he keeps all of his feelings stored up inside of him. But when he meets Sistine, she shows him that it’s okay to cry. Rob finds a tiger locked up in a cage and Sistine wants to let him free.

  7. I give this book 3 out of 5 stars because the plot was interesting but it got boring in some areas. I enjoyed how it showed how important friendship is.
