  1. Carefully observe the lab tables. When you are done, you must set them up for the next group exactly as you find them. • Put on gloves. • Get a section of a newspaper and a handful of rubber bands. • Choose a work area and leave the rubber bands there. • Take the newspaper to the tub of shirts. • Get your shirt, squeeze it, place it over the paper , and carry it to a lab table. • Squeeze out as much excess solution as possible. • Fold, twist, wrap, or scrunch the shirt at the lab table. • Use rubber bands to create the folds and make the design. • Carry cups of dye and pipets carefully to the lab table. • Share dyes. Don’t contaminate them. Don’t spill them. I’ll refill them. • Apply dye to your shirt, checking that it soaks in where you want it. • Carefully flip the shirt over and apply matching dye to the other side. • Place shirt on the newspaper and prepare to carry • When you are done: • Bundle up the mess in the plastic. • Replace the plastic as you found it. • Clean up.
