  1. DC2 plans • The 10M event sample for Tier0/Tier1 test of DC2 • This 10M event sample will satisfy the requirement of many trigger streams and a fairly rich sample without having too much bias in the physics. • Three sets • A) Large samples with signal/background events • B) Events with large cross section – selection applied • C) Single particle events • Post-production • Continuous production of events with the available resources, after the Tier0/Tier1 tests of DC2

Top in DC2 Tier test • The 10M tier 1 events in light of top: • Generation/simulation of 106 top events, inclusive decays, using MC@NLO • Using Herwig for MC + UE • Simulation with full geometry • Simulation 500K top events with displaced ID • Same truth generated top events as above • 1 cm displacement of ID – check tracking performance • Simulation of 106 W+jet events MC@NLO • For W+2 jet background • Simulation of 250K W+4jet events with AlpGen • pT>15 GeV approximately

  3. Other productions in 10M • 1M Z (to ee) Pythia .  • 1M Z (to mumu ) Pythia • 1M Z (to tau tau) Pythia.   • 0.5M Z+jet sample.  Z decays to leptons only (including neutrinos). Madcup and Pythia. • 0.25M dijets (pt>600) • 0.5M QCD events filtered to provide a sample with at least 1 b-jet with pt>15 and eta<2.5 • 200K susy coanihilation point.  • 100K Higgs to tau tau • 50K DC1 susy. This is data set 2315 from DC1. Used primarily for G4 validation.

  4. What is still missing? • Top production is ‘over-weighted’ in 10M sample • Unrealistic to ask for more in this sample • One of priorities in ‘post-production’: • Regenerate half of the top MC@NLO sample • Now using Jimmy UE (much more activity), after tuning • Still on the wish-list: • Top events with spin correlations • TopRex available, perhaps AcerMC? • Single top events • also TopRex • Dedicated samples single- and dilepton top events • Top events with PYTHIA (cross check with DC1)
