  10. Subject-Based Banding At P4 - Pupil sits for school-based examinationsBased on pupil’s results, school recommends a subject combination. Parents fill up option form indicating preferred combination At P5 - Pupil takes subject combination chosen by parentsEnglish, Mathematics, Science & Mother Tongue are available at standard and foundation levels.Mother Tongue is also available at the higher level. End of P5 Pupils who takes 1 or more foundation subject(s) and does very well in the subjects Pupils who takes 4 standard subjects and has difficulty coping All other pupils School may allow him to upgrade some subjects to standard level if school believes he can cope; or continue the same subject combination in P6 School may allow him to take 1 or more subjects at foundation level in P6 School will allow them to continue the same subject combination in P6

Some symptoms of Cyber Addiction : • Spending most of non-school hours on the cyber activities • Not keeping up with schoolwork • Lying about the use of computer • Choosing to use the computer for some form of cyber activities, • rather than meeting friends • Dropping out of other social groups (clubs or sports) • Irritability when not doing any cyber activity on the computer Cyber Addiction

Proposed Actions to Prevent Addiction : • Allow PCs/laptops only in living room or study room. • Develop an Incentive System. • Set limits on playing time. • Schedule “reality breaks”. • Rest tired eyes and muscles. • Change the cues. • Don’t beat them. Join them. • Push for educational computer games instead. • Change the power source. (Do a family activity like cycling.) • Look for school connection. • Go for the real thing.
