  7. AMSANZ (NZ) inc and ASAM Combined Conference August 26th- 30th 2009

  8. In 2009 the annual conference will be a triennial involving both the NZ & Australian societies. The conference will be hosted by the NZ branch who are proud to be doing the honours to help further the friendship between the two societies.

  9. Fiji may sound far away but it is only: • 2.5 hours from New Zealand • 3 hours from Brisbane • 3.5 hours from Sydney • 4.5 hours from Melbourne • 6 hours from Honolulu • 8 hours from Tokyo • 10 hours from Los Angeles

  10. The conference venue will be the Sheraton resort complex in Nadi, Fiji. The Sheraton is 3 resorts in one, with plenty of variety in conference facilities, activities and accommodation.

  11. Villas offer units with kitchens for families Facilities include 9 restaurants, 4 pools and 8 bars.

  12. Meetings facilities are spacious and comfortable We plan to prepare a program which will challenge and enlighten

  13. This year we’ve taken some steps into sub-orbital travel and the challenges involved. Next year we hope to take a step further as we progress towards a Moon landing in 2012 and a manned exploration to Mars in 2020.

  15. Rather like Darwin, it may take a few days to become acclimatised to the weather in Fiji, so please consider making a week of it and seeing some other attractions or just relax. So get your leis out of the cupboard and iron your grass skirts & book the week ahead in your calendars for next year and we look forward to providing an exciting event and renewing friendships with you all.
