  3. Steps • Click Insert, Reference, Footnote • Select whether you want an endnote or a footnote • Select the location – bottom of page or end of the paper

  4. Steps (part 2) • Click OK • The cursor will move to the bottom of the or to the end of the document for you to input the information

  5. To exit footnote • Once you have finished typing in the footnote, simply scroll back up and click where you were in the page.
